🐾 Breed-Specific — 65 Breeds

How old is your dog
in human years?

Most calculators just ask "small, medium, or large." We adjust for your dog's actual breed — because a Great Dane and a Chihuahua don't age at the same pace.

40 lb Medium

Don't know the exact weight? A guess is fine — you can always come back and adjust it. We blend the curve smoothly by weight instead of forcing your dog into one fixed bucket.

Adult 28 human years
That's about a 28-year-old

Why breed matters more than size alone

Two "large" dogs can have very different aging clocks. A Rhodesian Ridgeback often lives past 11; a Great Dane rarely sees 9. Bucketing both into "large breed" and stopping there misses that gap.

Our method: every breed still follows the same fast-aging first two years (all dogs are roughly "24" by their 2nd birthday). After that, we stretch or compress each additional year based on that breed's typical lifespan relative to its size class — shorter-lived breeds age faster per year, longer-lived breeds age slower. Don't know the breed? The "Mixed / not sure" tab blends the aging curve continuously by weight, instead of forcing your dog into one of four fixed buckets. It's an estimate, not a lab study, but it's a meaningfully closer model than small/medium/large alone.
